Deacons at Brighter Way Baptist Church are dedicated servants of the congregation, chosen by the pastor and presented to the church body. Following the biblical example established in the early church at Jerusalem (see Acts 6:3-7; 1 Timothy 3:8-13), they are expected to be of proven character, faithful, and filled with the Holy Spirit. Deacons assist the pastor in strengthening both the physical and spiritual ministries of the church, including supporting services such as baptism and communion, caring for the needs of members, and advancing the church’s mission.

 

The number of deacons is determined at the pastor’s discretion, and all deacons work closely with pastoral leadership to serve the Brighter Way community with humility, commitment, and Christlike love.
