​​Deaconesses at Brighter Way Baptist Church are women chosen by the pastor to serve the congregation with dedication and compassion following the biblical example of Phoebe, whom Paul commended as “a servant of the church in Cenchrea” (Romans 16:1-2, NKJV). Like deacons, they help care for the physical needs of the church by preparing communion elements, assisting with baptismal preparations, counseling or mentoring young women, and delivering food to widows and the elderly.

 

Committed to studying God’s Word, they seek to embody the virtues described in Proverbs 31:10-31, serving as faithful examples of godly character and encouraging others through their Christlike love, compassion, and service within the Brighter Way community.
